This tune has been in my head since the day before yesterday when a friend mentioned it in passing. Had it been any other song, I may have pummeled him, but fortunately the riot grrrrrl in me jumped up and cheered.

//birthday blues
Yesterday was my birthday. And so, I have 364 days before I hit the big 3-0. Oy...
For all that yesterday marked the beginning of the countdown, it was a lovely day. Mom made me chicken soup (yum) and my favorite Korean dishes, and Dad sat around, looking pleased with himself. I like to believe that his pride came from seeing how beautifully his oldest daughter matured, but who knows?
One glitch in the evening came when Linda and Emily thought it'd be a great idea to buy candles that sparked back to life after they'd been blown. The birthday queen was not amused.
If they ruined my birthday wish by having the candles spark back to life, heads will roll.
